What Is an AI Text Game?
An AI text game — also called interactive fiction or an AI text adventure — is a game with no fixed script: you type an action, and the AI writes the next scene in real time, roleplays every character, and moves the world forward. Unlike classic visual novels, there is no limit on branches — every sentence you write opens a new one.
How Does the AI Write the Story?
You start by providing a script: the world setting, character profiles, an opening line — or just paste a prompt you found elsewhere. Wordplay parses it and builds the world state and character stat panels for your run.
Each turn, the AI writes a new scene from the full context and offers 2–4 choices — or you can ignore them and type anything: flirt with the villain, sneak out at midnight, confess to the love interest. The AI remembers key events and auto-generates story summaries at major beats, so it never forgets what happened.
